I READ that eight police stations in Dorset had closed their desk service or were being confirmed as having closed.
Christchurch, Dorchester, Ferndown, Shaftesbury, Wareham and Winton joined the ranks of Verwood and Wimborne, all presumably to save money.
Running parallel was the news that our armed forces were also facing cutbacks, no doubt for the same reason.
Not what you want to hear when our national security is under intense scrutiny and the UK population is increasing at the rate of a million plus every four years.
Are the police and military being watered down in order to be replaced in time by new EU models?
We deserve both of them to be fit for purpose now.
The alternative is anarchy.
