WHAT a disaster the council have produced along Christchurch Road.

Lovely bushes and trees discarded, car parking on what were once decent pavements, crossings put far too close to busy crossroads.

Whoever thought this idea up obviously didn’t think hard enough.

We are supposed to be protecting and encouraging our wildlife, keeping our town green.

The bushes which they are still removing were a lovely retreat for many birds – I know as I walk along this road most days.

The designed car parking is a danger to both young children walking along the pavement with no protection whatsoever and cyclists who are also at risk.

My grandson cycles along this road regularly and says that one of the zebra crossings cannot be seen until you are practically on it.

The cycle lane is dangerous due to the way cars are parked adjacent to it.

The whole design is a total ‘no no’. There is more traffic congestion than we’ve ever had. This road has been ruined by bad planning – too many crossings and parked cars on this once pleasant road.
