HAVING just come out of the Royal Bournemouth Hospital’s orthopaedic department this week after hip surgery, I would like to express my views on the hospital and the NHS.

The standards of medical and nursing care that I experienced were of the highest standard.

The staff carried out their duties in an exemplary manner, full of kindness, consideration, enthusiasm, humour, coupled with excellent food.

It was their sheer professionalism that enabled me to get back on to my feet in the quickest and most pain free way possible after I had my hip revision.

Much is written and spoken about the failings of the NHS, so this small note, will I hope, redress the balance.

Hospitals are always a daunting prospect, even for the bravest, but my fears were allayed. My sincere thanks.
