WITH reference to the wind turbine / tourism debate, may I suggest the following: 1. Give the wind farm a user friendly nickname, perhaps Old Harry’s Windfarm. Keep the Navitus name for business and legal documents.
2. Create a cartoon character to promote renewable energy issues.
3. Sell toys, games, models, etc to promote the windfarm.
4. Organise boat trips to see the turbines close up.
5. Create an annual festival at Swanage on the theme of renewable energy: Rock against Greenhouse Gases! (Ragg Week).
6. Paint one turbine with red stripes. R L Stevenson once lived in Westbourne, and members of his clan designed lighthouses.
7. Attach fireworks to the blade tips to create giant Catherine wheel displays (only joking!).
