Mr Chapman (Echo letters 13 December) may be keen to live within sight of a giant industrial wind farm, but unluckily for the developers of the Navitus monster, most residents with sea views do not share his odd desire.

Independent research by the London School of Economics, published in March this year, shows that prices of properties within sight of a wind farm can fall by as much as 12 per cent, even if the turbines are as far as14km away.

Mr Chapman might be better to invest his money in a seaside resort where wind farms already exist – like Margate – and where property prices have already collapsed.

The giant Navitus Bay wind farm has already attracted more criticism that any other British wind farm, simply because it is too big, too close and too damaging to the environment and the economy. This is why it is so strongly opposed by MPs, councils, business leaders and environmental groups as well as residents and visitors.
