The recent collapse of world oil prices could herald an end to the so-called “green alternative”.

The economics of developing. the wind farm are now in serious doubt – even though the viability of the project depends on huge subsidies from us, the taxpayers.

The global recession combined with a glut of oil and gas should see off this dreamers’ project.

Take a look at the gridwatch website which shows how much energy is produced daily by wind power – 3.6 per cent yesterday.

Yes, that is not a misprint: only 3.6 per cent from thousands of wind turbines despoiling the countryside and our shoreline.

On a calm day the figure is even worse of course.

Save the planet? If all emissions from our little island were reduced to zero there would be no effect whatsoever on the world’s climate. Just look at the world map to see how tiny the UK is.

Green energy companies are only in it for the money. The bottom line is profit as Al Gore admitted.
