IN a recent letter, there was a complaint about people not washing their hands after using the toilet.
I must admit that I have sometimes done the same, simply because I could not fathom out how the taps worked; whether they were manual or sensor-operated.
I first came across sensor-operated taps many years ago in the USA.
There was a notice about the local need for water conservation and instructions on how to operate the taps.
In Britain, I have never seen instructions on how to operate the wretched gadgets nor yet any explanation as to why we need to save water in our rainy climate.
