WHILST I deplore the practice of people responsible for dogs failing to pick up after the animal I do not entirely agree with Mrs Harris’ assertion that larger penalties are needed.
What is required to address this problem, along with a raft of other issues such as litter dropping, fly tipping and other such social nuisances, is not a regime of greater penalties but proper enforcement of the penalties which already exist.
