Following the Echo report of the planning board application on CE Epiphany [24th], I can assure parents of children attending this hard-fought primary back in 1987 that the small single story conservatory style extension will not add to the report of being controversial.

The conditions added are to ensure that the use remains solely for the existing breakfast and after school clubs, the school has no intention of expanding the number of children attending the breakfast club from its 30.

The conditions added are that this new extension is for school use only and hours are from 7am until 6pm with no plans to let this extension to any community groups, all other activities take place in the main school hall, like all schools with tight budgets the hall needs to work within the community to raise funds to support school activities.

Any noise as reported is from children playing outside and in better weather on the small school field.

I was grateful that the full board supported my move to grant, with conditions, also reminding members that in 1974 this land was reserved for education purposes back in 1984 when then Dorset County Council supported my call for and interest free loan to the Diocesan council to enable four acres them to purchase the land, otherwise it would have been sold for housing, instead we have two great primaries in Muscliff Epiphany and Muscliff schools.
