WITH regard to advertising on newly bought PCs, I totally agree with Richard Durrant in his complaint about advertising put onto a new PC.

A neighbour of mine has just bought a brand new desktop PC and it was absolutely full of advertisements that kept popping up and interfering with his use of the PC.

It was so bad that he had to get an expert to go through it and remove the sources of these multiple annoying adverts that kept popping up.

To me this is a totally unacceptable practice by the manufactures/suppliers.

I also take issue with the money demanded by some advertisers to keep the machine free of viruses. Computer malware and viruses cost the economy millions, and the penalties for releasing such malware on the internet should be very much harsher.

I feel that to put these criminals out of business, governments should provide free the best anti- virus and malware software.
