I WRITE in response to a letter from Hilary Darwin about our £1 print at home fee.

BH Live operates a ticketing agency providing customers with choice and service alongside our diverse range of events, activities and cultural programme. Our ticketing service operates seven days a week and relies on enterprise class software, and a team of highly skilled employees, to process tickets for over 430 shows each year. Issuing tickets is far from straightforward.

We have to make sure our systems are secure to protect customers and promoters against fraud, especially when handling data and conducting financial transactions.

Print at home, for events and pre-paid car parking tickets, was introduced in response to customer demand for a faster and more convenient alternative than posting tickets.

Ensuring the validity of e-tickets, to prevent fraud and ensure security requires rigorous procedures, training and equipment.

BH Live is a social enterprise and a not-for-profit distribution organisation with charitable goals – a business with a social conscience. The £1 fee is a small contribution towards our costs and enables us to deliver these services for the benefit of both residents and visitors to Bournemouth.

We invest surplus revenue into community assets and evolving our leisure and cultural events.

We appreciate Mrs Darwin’s feedback and hope to welcome her and her husband back soon.
