I WAS pleased to read the comments on the lack of our bus services, 4D and 32, in this area.

Those of us over a certain age have a need for a bus service that is reliable and frequent between Wimborne, Poole and Merley.

The return taxi fare from where I live in Merley to Wimborne is over £10, and I would gladly spend this on reduced fare bus tickets if a small charge were introduced, in exchange for access to a decent bus service.

The other very large problem rearing its ugly head right now is the onset of bad weather.

There are absolutely no bus shelters or seats in Merley Gardens and frequently along Sopwith Crescent.

To get to my closest service to Wimborne is a walk of over 500 yards with the prospect of no shelter when I reach it, and nowhere to sit to wait for a bus that may be delayed.

This happened during the last week when the doctors in Merley and Wimborne were giving the annual flu shots on specific days, but the bus didn’t arrive and many people had to abandon the waiting and thus lose their appointments.

A very unpleasant situation for those who do not have private transport and an unnecessary one in this day and age.

Is there anybody out there bothering to take note of all the complaints and pleas? I don’t think so.
