A SELFISH cysclist poem: When I get on my bike I will do what I damn well like.

On precinct, pavement or road I will ignore the Highway Code.

If I get injured when you get in my way Compensation you will pay.

The police and courts are now on my side So keep well clear, when I go for a ride.

This poem is to highlight the continuing ignorance of a large and increasing number of cyclists who continue to ignore the Highway Code (especially in the one way system at Sandbanks), unfortunately without any challenge from the council, police or courts, resulting in complete anarchy on the roads.

This is in spite of your paper’s ongoing correspondence on the conflict between cyclists and all other road users.

At the end of the day, until those cyclists (wherever they come from in the world) follow the Highway Code, they will continue to be seen as a nuisance, get injured or end up as road kill!

When an appropriate situation arises, I hope your newspaper will publish this letter.
