I AM moved to write in response to the council’s ill-thought-out and frankly incomprehensible decision to scrap or reduce various bus services from next autumn.
In particular the scrapping of the 52 route through Canford Cliffs.
This route provides the only way into our local town, Poole, for those without their own transport. We will therefore be cut off from the shopping centre, the theatre, the railway station, the hospital and the Lilliput Surgery as well as the schools and colleges.
All this to “save” a notional £150,000?
The personal and social costs will be far, far higher and I strongly believe the council should revisit this issue as a matter of urgency.
GRAHAM DEWEY,
Martello Road South,
Canford Cliffs
