Common sense prevailed in the end
The fact that 45 per cent of voting Scots backed Mr Salmond and his pipe dream is a source of great concern, and demonstrates how susceptible human beings are to the influence of the skilful, if deluded, orator. Fortunately, in this instance, the common sense for which Scots are renowned prevailed, and economic oblivion was averted – to the enormous relief of the UK, and all who wish Scotland well.
