World leaders – including President Obama and our Prime Minister Mr Cameron – are meeting in New York on Tuesday to talk about climate change.

The New Economy Climate Report, just released, by a commission of global economic leaders, shows how prosperity and climate change action can go hand in hand.

This year-long study from individuals and over 100 organisations shows that over the next 15 years trillions of pounds could be saved by building low-carbon into the key sectors of the global economy.

The report concludes that jobs, profits and innovation are compatible with action on our changing climate.

In remarks on Twitter Barack Obama said: “This study concludes that no one has to choose between fighting climate change and growing the economy.”
