We would like to thank all those who took the time to both compliment and comment on the 2014 Air Festival. It was a record breaking year for us and we will be going into 2015 looking at ways we can improve the festival even more as it moves into its eighth year. Picking up on the points raised by Amanda King on the Echo letters page on September 3, I would like to emphasise that, unlike in previous years, the vast majority of our dedicated disabled parking in the park and ride and the town centre was used. This was particularly the case on Saturday when we attracted our biggest crowd ever to the festival, with over 442,000 people enjoying the show. I would like to assure her that we had parking enforcement teams out to minimise disruption and improve traffic flows and not inconvenience pedestrians by parking on pavements. As every year, we will take everybody’s comments on board as part of our debriefing of 2014 and in preparation for 2015. Thanks once again for the feedback – all of it helps to improve and make the festival a global top ten event.
