A MINUTE or two after passing Cooper Dean roundabout driving westbound on the Wessex Way, I noticed what I thought to be a small piece of paper flying erratically over the road.

As I approached this “piece of paper” I realised it was constructed of a more substantial material.

By the time I realised this “piece of paper” was in fact a rogue golf ball escaping from Queen’s Park Golf Course, the Titleist 1 DT Solo struck the driver’s side vertical window support and ricocheted into the passenger compartment.

After a further two rebounds, it came to rest on the front passenger side floor.

As a golfer, I am always on the lookout for the odd lost ball, but this was ridiculous.

I was wondering if this has ever happened before, or is it a common occurrence?

I bought a Euro Millions Lottery ticket after the event, and although a little beaten up, I may try the ball when I next play.
