I REFER to the Daily Echo article “A New Lease of Life” in the issue of Saturday 23rd August.
This article refers to plans by a London church to start services at the former St Swithun’s Church on the East Cliff.
The project team leader, Tim Mathews from London, is quoted as saying : “We also want to bring hope to the hopeless – St Swithun’s is on the doorstep of one of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the south west.” Memo to East Cliff and Boscombe town councillors (answers on a postcard please) – do you agree with this out-of-towner’s opinion of our fair town?
