Dr Rodger (‘Their images also incorrect’, Echo, August 13) once again seems to be more concerned about alleged errors in Challenge Navitus’s (CN) images of Navitus Bay than the developer’s publications during the statutory consultations.

New visualisation guidance demonstrates that for years the public has been badly informed about the true scale of developments.

CN recognised the need to create more realistic images of Navitus Bay partly because deficiencies of the old methods were not being addressed by the developer.

CN’s photo-montages have always been scaled correctly despite Dr Rodger’s various claims to the contrary, and they have not been “consistently 10 per cent too large” as he now believes.

We encourage people to contact us directly if they have found any mistakes.

Visibility is very good in our region and photo-montages are required to show clear conditions.

The weather cannot always relied upon to hide the wind farm when people are out enjoying the coast. In any case, relevant statutory consultees and the developer have concluded that the visual impact of Navitus Bay would be significant, especially along the unspoilt coasts of Purbeck and the Isle of Wight.
