Julie Goodman’s letter (Saturday 26th July) highlights yet another example of wastefulness by Christchurch Council – electronic parking signs that are not only inaccurate but unneccessary.
There is now nowhere you can park in Christchurch for free. It is twenty-four hour charging wherever you go.
No concessions after 6pm when there is hardly anyone left in the Town Centre, and on Sunday mornings it is a ghost town until noon when I assume everyone starts to wake up.
Free parking at least sometime in the evening/overnight might actually encourage people to come into town.
We need more visitor attractions wth a difference. I would suggest a revival in taxidermy with the Red House Museum as the centre.
Stuffed Councillors would be a huge draw. Unfortunately they would have to be dead first! Start the ball rolling before they vote themselves another pay rise in April.
The last one was 7 per cent two years ago and I don’t see any improvement in the services provided by the Council. Quite the reverse in fact.
