OUR usual walk on a nice sunny day like today is along Highcliffe cliff but today we decided to walk the stretch between Friars Cliff car park and Mudeford Quay.
It is some time since we did this walk and we could not believe our eyes when we reached the Avon Beach car park and saw the new beach huts that Christchurch Council have placed in front of those beautiful and obviosly expensive beach homes in the Haven site.
The huts obscure one of the most georgeous views across the Solent to the IOW and the Needles.
How can the council justify this action?
I am sure it must have caused a great deal of upset to the home owners and I am sure if I wished to place a beach hut in such an odious position the Planning Department would prevent me from doing so.
I must add that I have no personnal involvement but as a ratepayer I am absolutely appalled by such action and hopefully these huts will be washed away in storms this winter.
