SUSAN Chapman (July 14th) says that we are suffering increasingly madder, unpredictable weather.
I suggest that she is the one in need of a ‘Climate Literacy Programme’ and should read the excellent book in the library about the history of the ‘Little Ice Age’ of the 17th century.
No long period in history had more disastrous weather. A lack of sunspots was noted at the time.
No modern climatologist wants to know about this period as there are no bucks to be made out of seeking to change the behaviour of the sun.
