I have noticed how regularly Councillor John Beesley replies to letters which ask questions of the council and its operations and indeed many of the letters do require answers and information to be given to the public.
Councillor Beesley in his latest reply (Echo, 5th April) to John Ward has mentioned “substantial funding from the council’s reserves”.
As a member of the public and in seeking further information in the public interest I require that Councillor Beesley does now publish the details of all of the ‘reserves’ that he has mentioned; because obviously being open and transparent with the public’s funding is of paramount interest to the public.
Also, and for the future public record, I have noted the recent silence of Councillor David Smith in respect of my letter calling his comments about the council as being ‘disingenuous’.
