I am absolutely disgusted with Dorset County Council.
On February 22, I buckled both of my alloys and damaged the callipers, making my car unsafe to drive due to some bad potholes in Uddens Drive.
No warning signs...or the area sectioned off.
I reported it immediately, and also put a claim in.
Fast forward to today, April 5, I get a letter saying that they are not compensating me. The road is category 2b So what? Istill have a car I can’t drive and that they have not acted negligently or breached statutory duty?
I luckily enough took photos at the time and there were no signs and also I photographed the deep potholes in question .
I now know why they tell you to mend the car yourself and just send either the bill in or two estimates – they have no intention of paying out.
I’m so angry as it’s been six weeks of waiting, and I have a car I cannot drive.
The cost of the damage is over £1000 – and that is money I do not have. It all seems so unfair.
Shame on you Dorset County Council and your claims dept.
