YOU report (January 10) that a report will go to Bournemouth cabinet on Wednesday (January 16) as to how changes in children’s services will save Bournemouth council some £326,000 next year with more to follow – a very commendable idea.

Unfortunately it is far from clear to me how this will be achieved. Instead we are introduced to such concepts as greater “involvement of schools and academies’’, “wholly commissioned services”, “configured youth centres”.

What does it all mean and how will they individually contribute to the overall projected saving?
