Andrea Soler Live EP Launch: Salterns Hotel, Poole
Passionate and provoking, Andrea Soler makes grown up music for young at heart people. Her debut EP Better in the Sunshine is a rich, folksy piece of summer with a chilled out heart. Not background music in the least, but something to relax to on a summer's evening.
Live, Andrea Soler is an enthusiastic and exciting performer. Working closely with back up from her bandmates and friends, her performance is a study in unity and teamwork. "These are the dudes!" she exclaims when asked about her relationship with her band. "They understand my music, bounce off of it. We don't just work together we're friends too."
Andrea believes Dragonfly' is the best song the band has to play live. "People just feed off of it and it affects us in turn. We love to play it because of the reaction it receives." Title track Better in the Sunshine and dreamy Angels also work well in inspiring an audience, getting people moving and singing along.
Australian-born Andrea also has a passion for the environment that she keeps close to her heart when writing. But she maintains that her music is music for the sake of it and she doesn't want to push a point.
"If the moment feels right then I might explain to an audience what a song is really about. But I don't want to preach. I just want the audience to have a good time," she said.
If ever that was possible, Andrea Soler, with her upbeat but chilled out flamenco meets Jack Johnson meets folk meets indie infusion, will be able to make it happen. Better in the Sunshine is out now.
