Films to light up Senior Screen
BOURNEMOUTH'S Odeon cinema is set to showcase a season of award-winning films as part of its popular Senior Screen programme.
The over-50s are invited to attend the RIAS Senior Screen award-winning film season at their local cinema, where they will be treated to a special collection of top-rated films during April and May.
The initiative started this week with a screening of the Oscar-nominated The Valley of Elah, winner of the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Film Festival in 2007.
Other critically acclaimed titles have been lined-up including Best Original Screenplay Oscar winner Juno, Oscar-winning Sweeney Todd starring Johnny Depp, Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and No Country For Old Men, which scooped four Oscars at this year's ceremony, including the top awards for Best Director and Best Film.
Tickets for all of the films will be available at the discounted Senior Screen rate available to anyone over the age of 50.
Information leaflets on the entire seasonal programme will be available at Odeon, Bournemouth.
As regular Senior Screen film-goers will know, there will also be free tea, coffee and biscuits available in the foyer before each film begins.
Odeon Bournemouth manager Spencer Clark says: "The Senior Screen events have been a huge success since they launched at our cinema in 2001.
"We are always looking for new ways to cater to our discerning over-50s guests and the award-winning film season will provide our audience with a flavour of some of the best films to grace the silver screen in the last 12 months."
