P.S. I Love You (15) Momentum ***
OH dear. Tissues at the ready, if you're that way inclined, and better make sure you're well stocked up.
Two-times Oscar winner Hilary Swank stars as a young widow struggling to cope on her own until letters start arriving from her dead husband, setting her tasks and trips and gently easing her transition into her unwanted new life.
A fine supporting cast includes Kathy Bates, Harry Connick Jr, and Lisa Kudrow - in full Phoebe mode.
Depending on your sensibilities, this is either an indulgent feast of romance and tragedy to wallow in, weeping all the way- or a manipulative, two-dimensional, too-long Hollywood adapation of a very successful novel.
