Rock ’n’ Roll High School + Rock ’n’ Roll High School 2 (15) ILC Entertainment *

TEENAGERS. All they really want to do is rebel, you know, and how do they like to rebel?

Why, they dance to that far out rock and roll sound, of course.

This extra-cheesy Grease wannabe sees unconvincing teenager PJ Soles (she was 29!) lead the rebellious students of Vince Lombardi High in a quest to persuade the Ramones to record her song. The Ramones cameo is vaguely amusing, but even today's teenagers would find little to hold their interest.

The sequel at least has the novelty value of Corey Feldman's '80s hair (despite being made in 1991), and there are a decent array of nostalgic extras.

But really this just gives low budget a bad name.
