Western Sunset wrote:
Father of three, Western Sunset (aged 59) from Wimborne, Dorset made some carbonara earlier this week for tea. He heated the water in a large saucepan. When it was boiling he gently added the pasta. Because he did this very carefully, he avoided scalding himself on the hot liquid.
Setting the timer, to ensure that the pasta cooked for the correct length of time, he then grated some cheese. He was again careful not to hurt his fingers on the very sharp metal grater. Some butter was also taken out of the fridge, along with three eggs. To his great relief, Mr Sunset noticed that the eggs were not cracked or past their "best by" date.
A frying pan was next taken out of the cupboard and some olive oil carefully poured into it. The pan was then heated and some bacon cut into strips. A sharp knife was used, but no fingers were injured in undertaking this hazardous task. The bacon was fried until crispy brown. Dorset Fire & Rescue were not required to attend as Mr Sunset had sucessfully fried bacon before without mishap.
The bacon, cheese, butter and eggs were then added to the pan of drained pasta. After stirring, the meal was served and enjoyed by the family.
