TOP British juniors took to Harbourside Raceway to compete in the inaugural Dave Lanning Junior Laurels.

The event was held in memory of former Poole club president and long-time supporter Lanning, who sadly passed away last October.

In less than ideal conditions for racing, it was the Sheffield duo of Ed Morton and Adam Watson who splashed their way to the top two podium positions.

Morton reeled off four wins after a second-place finish in his opening ride behind Sean Bennett.

Watson had to yield to newly-crowned British junior champion Harrison Bacon in heat six and Morton in heat nine, both times starting from the unfavoured outside gate position.

Local favourite Ben Tinsdale was quietly building up his points tally and a determined win in his final race saw him clinch the third rostrum spot.

Result: Ed Morton (Sheffield) 19, Adam Watson (Sheffield) 18, Ben Tinsdale (Poole) 17, Harrison Bacon 15, Callum Goward 14, Sean Bennett 14, Fraser Garnett 13, Carl Parfitt 13, Jack Ellis 12, Alex Harvey 11, Haydn Rowley 11, Reece Johnson 10, Devon Campbell 9, Callum Smith 9, Will Jeffrey 5 (retired).
