OLLIE Fairman received six of the best to lead a seasonal medal-fest for Swim Bournemouth at Yeovil.

The squad, aged nine to 14, won 29 medals at the Yeovil Christmas Open Meet – 10 gold, 12 silver and seven bronze.

Eleven-year-old Fairman topped the Bournemouth tally with seven medals of which six were gold.

And he used all four strokes to complete his collection.

Fairman’s wins came in the 11yrs 100 and 200m backstroke (1:18.12 and 2:40.87), 200m freestyle (2:26.13), 200m breaststroke (3:03.77) and 200 and 400m individual medley (2:43.95 and 5:42.54).

He also took silver in the 100m breaststroke in 1:29.89.

Twelve-year-old Isabelle Hepburn’s five medals included at least one of each colour. She took gold in the 12yrs 100m butterfly and breaststroke (1:18.99 and 1:25.25), silver in the 200 and 400m freestyle (2:27.76 and 5:08.32) and bronze in the 200m butterfly (3:00.46).

Gabby Wood and Alexandra Palotai-Avella each won gold and silver.

Wood came first in the 9yrs 50m breaststroke in 50.29 and second in the 200m backstroke (3:14.95).

Palotai-Avella took gold in the 10yrs 200m freestyle in 2:41.19 and silver in the 50m butterfly in 39.48.

Ella Bowman’s five medals included four silvers as she came second in the 11yr 100m butterfly, 200m medley and 200 and 400m freestyle in times of 1:20.64, 2:48.13, 2:30.64 and 5:14.68, respectively.

Bowman’s fifth medal was bronze in the 50m breaststroke (41.77).

In the same age group Rosie Holland added a brace of silver medals to the Swim Bournemouth tally as she came second in the 100 and 200m breaststroke in 1:27.97 and 3:06.31.

Callum McGregor won silver in the 14yrs 100m breaststroke in 1:17.13 and bronze in the 50m breaststroke and 100m butterfly (34.68 and 1:10.00).

Bronze medals went to Fran Gallimore in the 13yrs 50m backstroke (33.87), Abigal Manns in the 13yrs 100m breaststroke (1:22.48) and Drew McGregor in the 11yrs 100m butterfly (3:13.86).
