PARLEY will be hoping to emulate their class of 2006 after easing into the last 16 of the NatWest Under-15 National Club Championship.

Victory over South Wilts on Sunday earned them a place in the South & West group semi-final where they will meet Basingstoke & North Hants.

Max Trueman (17), Harrison Clarke (16) and Owen Morris (22) all made runs at the top of the order as Parley, national champ-ions in 2006, reached 88 for five.

Ollie Thomas (47) and Tom Barber (20) then put on 58 from the final five overs as Parley posted a competitive 146 for five from their 20 overs.

Opening pair Owen Morris (1-11) and Harrison Clarke (2-17) both bowled a tight line as South Wilts found runs hard to come by.

And with Alex Sands (3-30) and Ollie Shrubsole (3-18) continuing the good work, South Wilts fell well short at 96 for nine, with Parley running out victors by 50 runs.

Parley manager Mark Barber, who takes the team to Millfield School for the group semi-final on July 30, praised his players for a good overall performance.

He said: “All the players have been working really hard at training and the coaching throughout the summer has been a real help to them. It is great that a number of the team have been at the club for more than six years. They have shown pride and commitment for Parley and deserved the victory.”
