HANNAH Molyneaux, Ashleigh Power and Ryan Webb each achieved South West Schools’ Track & Field Championship best performances as Dorset finished third overall in the regional contest at Yeovil.

Molyneaux broke through the 13m barrier to claim the junior girls’ shot title with a rankings- topping 13.27m, while Power achieved 51.07m to win a close- fought intermediate hammer contest.

Webb high jumped 2.02m for the first time to go second on his age group ranking list. He also leapt 6.30m for long jump gold.

Wimborne AC clubmate Matthew Curtis also did a golden double, winning both pole vault (3.50m) and discus (43.09m), while Jamie Williamson’s 1.91m gained senior high jump gold.

Dorset’s junior girls enjoyed a golden spree. Backing up Molyneaux’s shot success, Danielle Broom won the discus (31.92m), Eva Bowring claimed javelin gold (34.75m) and Olivia Galloway long jumped exactly five metres for victory.

Grace Copeland ran the fastest female 800m of the day (2:14.41) for a golden debut. Meanwhile, Jason Rowsell (triple jump 11.78m) and Chris McIntosh (discus 38.01m) won junior boys titles.

Kevin Hodgson was runner-up in both senior sprints (11.02s and 21.98s) before anchoring the county to relay victory (44.03s), while Matthew Ridge gained senior shot putt silver (13.93m).

Sam Brown-Araujo (800m 2:01.05), Ryan Long (pole vault 3.40m), Tom Peters (discus 41.33m), Ben Dickinson (javelin 55.75m) and Olivia Hunter (300m hurdles 46.37s) were all inter runners-up.

Among the juniors there were silver medals for Pippa Hine (100m 12.93s), Bethan Burley (shot 11.66m), Tamsin Miller (javelin 33.78m) and long-jumper Rory Shafford (5.65m).
