LOSING semi-finalists Electric made the most of an unexpected cup reprieve by lifting the silverware at Ferndown.

Electric, who lost 3-1 to Kingswood in the last four, were reinstated when their conquerors were unable to raise a side.

“It was a surprise,” said boss John Hopkins. “We didn’t know we were playing until 5pm the night before.”

Callum Read gave Electric a 1-0 lead at the interval before Max Hill doubled their advantage from a free-kick after the break.

Read bagged his second goal five minutes from time.

“The scoreline doesn’t reflect how close the game was,” added Hopkins. “Both teams had chances to score and we took ours and they didn’t.”
