ELECTRIC charged into the semi-finals of the Hampshire Cup with a 4-2 win against Salisbury City at Chapel Gate.

After a hard-fought 15 minutes, Electric’s midfield probing paid off when Billy Cooper’s slide rule pass found skipper Adam Petty, who finished smartly.

Before half time, Electric's Adam Everett found room in the box to prod home a second.

Salisbury pushed to get back in the game and found a route back, with a goal direct from a corner.

Electric extended their lead shortly into the second half when Everett netted his second goal, only for Salisbury to come back again with a powerful finish to make it 3-2.

At this point, a fierce rear-guard action was needed, with Electric’s goalkeeper Tom Nicholas in excellent form.

Influential midfielder George Croucher stepped up with minutes to go to power home a long range effort with a sweet right foot.

“I am really proud of what the boys have achieved, said manager Mark Petty. “To be in the final four teams out of 132 is an incredible achievement and is due to their hard work and commitment.”

Electric Under-11s: Tom Nicholas, Craig John Clement, Michael Vieira, Tyler Pearce, Billy Cooper, George Croucher, Adam Everett, Adam Petty (Captain), Elliot Hare, Nathan Roberts, Luke Butler, Sam Broadbent.
