REJUVENATED Dexter Sports under-13s continued their run of good form by reaching the last eight of the Dorset Cup with a 4-1 win over Lytchett RT.

Two seasons ago the side played 26 games in the Bournemouth Youth League under-11s top flight, winning only two and conceding more than 150 goals.

So far this term Dexters have played 11 games, won 10 and scored 57 goals and are on course for promotion.

Now silverware is on the Dexters agenda after progressing to the Dorset and Bournemouth Cup quarter-finals.

Manager Roy Loe’s team are also second in the under-13s second division.

“I am very proud of the boys as they have all worked so hard on their own individual skills and as a team they are starting to believe in themselves,” said Loe.

Sam Merrifield (2), Oliver Loe and Connor Gregory were on target in the win over Lytchett, while Shaun Stubbs netted the consolation goal for the Dorset League high-fliers.

As a reward for their good run of results, the under-13s’ sponsor NGPS Limited have arranged for the team to form a guard of honour at AFC Bournemouth’s home game on January 27.
