BRANKSOME United’s triple trophy hunt gathered pace with an 8-1 win over Winsor Sports in the Hampshire Cup on Sunday.
The reigning Dorset Cup holders won the third round tie at Canford Park with Elliot Leadbeater leading the scoring with a hat-trick.
In a superb all-round performance, there were five other goalscorers – Lewis Cook, George Wiffen, Flynn Begley, Jordan Jones and Sam Darlow.
“We overpowered them with some excellent football and there could have been more goals, but their keeper was on top form,” said manager Peter Hughes.
Division Three outfit Branksome under-15s, who finished runners-up in the Bournemouth Youth League last season, have a further three cup games in successive weeks.
Next up is a third round Bournemouth Cup tie with Ringwood before Hughes’s team entertain Totton-based Pace Panthers in the fourth round of the Hampshire Cup on Sunday December 2.
Branksome continue their defence of the Dorset County Cup at home to Weymouth Cougars in the third round on the following Sunday.
Hughes and coach Alec Guthrie have assembled a talented squad containing seven players who attend the Dorset FA Development Centre and three who play for the Poole and East Dorset Schools team.
Branksome under-15s squad: Gerard Benfield, Luke Stevens, Oliver Taylor, George Wiffen, Sam Darlow, Tom Godley, Tom Storey, Freddie Lodge, Jordan Jones, Sean Wright, James Guthrie, James Blake, Harry Poole, Lewis Kelly, Lewis Cook, Tom Begley, Elliot Leadbeater, Flynn Begley.
