'Savi' has big plans for club
 |
| PLANS: ALISTAIR Saverimutto |
ALISTAIR Saverimutto was unveiled as Cherries' new chief executive yesterday and he wasted no time in laying out his grand plans for the crisis club.
Saverimutto, known as Savi, worked as head of commercial operations at Everton for five years and is a former professional rugby union player who heads up marketing group Sport-6.
At yesterday's press conference, he stated a desire to use "outside the box" thinking to put the club back on track.
He said: "I've had five years in football but 18 years in sport.
"I come from a sporting background, it's in my blood and I played sport at international level, as well as concentrating on the commercial and marketing aspects of sport in general. I bring these qualities to the table.
"It's like anything, you have to look outside the box in football to make these things happen.
"If you look in the box, you're only going to compete with everybody else.
"My intention is to bring my outside the box qualities to this football club, work with Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly, and really take this to a new level."
Saverimutto, rumoured to be earning a six-figure salary as chief executive, added: "I'm absolutely convinced that the team I've begun to put in place is the right team, and it's one of expertise in the right areas," he said.
"Football has to be run like a business. I know you've probably heard it many times across the land but until football is run like a business we will still see administrations.
"So my intent is very clear. We are going to run this as a business, we're going to re-invest and support the manager and take it forward to a new level."
It is understood that the team Saverimutto is building at Cherries includes executives from Sport-6, and that they were introduced to staff at the club prior to yesterday's press conference.
Saverimutto succeeds Laurence Jones in the role of chief executive after the lifelong Cherries fan left the club in January to take up the position of interim chief executive at the Leicester and Rutland County FA.

What happens to his job if Mostyn does not take over the club? Quite a statement he is making whilst we are still in administration. He has been around the club for a couple of months and did walk away so I wonder what made him finally take up this role? There are still many more questions than answers, we still have no idea who the backers are for the takeover, were we not told in last weeks press conference that they would be presented to us this week, and still nothing, very clever pr to introduce the new CEO when the news we wanted is still being held back.

Forgive me for asking but if Mr savermutto is now employed by the Club on a 6 figure salary as stated in the other post. In the unlikely event that krassner allows this alternative bid to be given a level chance and it succeeds sure Mr Savermuto will then be an employee of a rival bidder. With that in mind wouldnt it have been wiser to delay Mr Savermuttos appointment until Jeff had actually got the Club. And the other point I would like to raise is If this new bidder was the Money behind Jeffs bid as this says and the money is still with Lawyers one would assume that the bid financialy at least is the same as Jeffs bid but as Mr Krassner says quite clearly that Jeffs bid is higher , has Jeff increased his bid. All very strange I think

I am still concerned that any deal for AFCB is merely, or appears to be, JUST to bail the club out enabling it JUST to survive!!. (i.e. 1 million appears to be the muted figure for AFCB).
I have stated this before about what sort of sum is maybe, or alledgedly required to take this club FORWARD i.e. the 6 million invested by the Doncaster chairman enabling them the achieve three promotions in five years to get into the Championship.
It appears to me that the powers that be around AFCB are just content with the club to just flounder around in League 'diddly' Two with the odd flirtation with League One here and there and the Championship being a mere fantasy.
Furthermore, are there any plans to buy back the stadium in Mostyn's bid ??? or are there plans to buy back the club shop that was sold off ??? or indeed the catering facilities that were alledgedly sold off too ??.
Looking at the wider picture, it just riles and baffles me as to WHY with the Bournemouth and Poole area being one of the most affluent parts of the country we are and always been, struggling to find investors to take the club forward. Yet small mining town clubs such as the likes of Doncaster and one or two others over the years there were people queing up to to rescue them etc.
Perhaps it's typical southern 'pompousness' and 'snobbery' with the attitude that there are more things or important things to do in Bournemouth than go to a football match. I have a feeling that the town Council and their 'blue rinse following' would love the club to go under just to get rid of us!!!
Apparently, if the club did go under does anybody relaise that Bounemouth would be the largest town in the country without Football League representation - frightening!!.
It just goes to show just how far this club has been allowed to fall....
Regards

On a serios note lets hope he is worth the money that the Club cant afford

Get rid of him. Why does he need a box to think inside or outside of.
What we need is creative and inovative thinking.
Start with a blank canvass and the more paint you put on the better the picture.
Forget about boxes and start thinking about players.
Priority number one going forward is how do we build a great team?
If we can achieve that goal everything else will fall into place.
Higher attendances, more club shop sales, more catering income, more sponsors.
Its not rocket science. £100,000 a year....don't make me laugh.

I just cant see how Krassner could agree to funds being used for this until its all sorted Mostyn will be paying himself next

Mark my words - this man is absolutely not to be trusted....
The foundations of this appointment are built on sand. His business is worthless and you have no idea what you are getting...
Oh, it's nearer to £150k per annum. Fact.

I would check his credentials because i do not believe that he has worked in Football for FIVE years as stated. Its alleged that he was only at Everton in charge of the Reatil shops for eight months before getting the chop. That was in 2003-04. Its alleged again that he tried to move in on Chester City and only lasted weeks before the owner removed him and its alleged that there may still be legal proceedings to follow ? 11/12/07 . Please check by ringing C.C.F.C. 01244 371376.
Also if you go to the SPORT- 6 website which says very little and ring the contact number given , the line is dead ? I tried 118118 and they gave another number which is also dead ?
Just wondered what is going on Savvi .

It was the Echo who brought up abot Krassners fees so they didnt know it was a flat rate and it was Krassner who said this new CE was on a six figure salary. It would appear that it wasnt only Mostyn who put money in. But you are right lets wait and see what happens tommorow because if nothing does we are really close to the wire I dont think People are deliberatly trying to be negative, the post I have seen are obviously from people who are worried about the Club . If youve got a noose around your neck positive thinking wont stop the trap door opening

Now where have I heard that claptrap before?
Rupert Lowe, Clive Woodward (sorry, Sir Clive)....

Please, i am not been negative , i am just afraid for the future of our club under Mostyn and Sly. They never seem to check who they get into bed with ?
The FACTS about Savi are all on GOOGLE and you can ask Everton or Chester, just ring them , i did. I also tried to ring Sport - 6 , check their website, i did.
Look at the claims about the people from Luton, same address at companies house as the one Luton use for their accounants. ALL FACTS !
Jeff told us all that he paid the wages and now we find out it was Pither ? Need i go on ! I am dizzy on this roundabout of disaster after disaster and all the time OUR CLUB is becoming a laughing stock in the game we all love. Lets wait another day and see what the wee man comes up with.
