NATIONAL qualifiers Todd Price and Alan Wong underlined their versatility as they led Ferndown Otters’ medal haul in the South West age groups.
Price, 12, used three of the four strokes to win his three medals at Millfield – gold in the 12yrs 400m freestyle (4:45.65) and silver in the 100m backstroke (1:11.95) and 200m butterfly in a national qualifying time (NQT) of 2:35.23.
Wong claimed an identical set of medals for his win in the 11yrs 200m butterfly (2:38.14) and second places in the 100m backstroke (1:11.88) and 200m medley (2:40.31).
Lucy Kirkham added a third gold to the Ferndown tally in the 12yrs 100m freestyle (1:05.40).
Ellie Beckwith’s silver-winning time of 2:31.10 in the 13yrs 200m backstroke was also an NQT.
The boys’ 200m breaststroke provided two bronze medals for Otters through Noah Vides, 12, whose time of 2:55.18 was an NQT, and 10-year-old Luke Short (3:26.75).
