DANIELLE Thwaites came home with four golds and a silver after topping a 26-medal haul for Bournemouth Dolphins at the Tigersharks Open Meet in Swindon.
The 12-year-old won the 12yrs 100m and 200m butterfly (1:17.01 and 2:49.42), 400m freestyle (5:04.74) and 400m medley (5:46.66) and came second in the 200m freestyle (2:29.19).
Tess Carter’s butterfly skills came to the fore as she took gold in the 13yrs 100m and 200m fly (1:12.67 and 2:35.73) as well as silver in the 50m and 100m freestyle (31.15 and 1:07.83) and 200m medley (2:45.23) and bronze in the 200m freestyle (2:23.68).
Twelve-year-old Rachel Hawkins’s six medals included at least one of every colour – gold in the 12yrs 200m medley (2:49.62), silver in the 400m medley (5:57.48) and bronze in the 100m and 200m butterfly (1:18.54 and 3:04.52), 100m backstroke (1:19.04) and 400m freestyle (5:21.53).
Abigail Axe-Browne won a complete set of medals in the same age group – gold in the 100m breaststroke (1:25.48), silver in the 200m breast (3:05.81) and bronze in the 200m freestyle (2:29.26).
Sophie Cooke joined Hawkins in the six-medal bracket although gold eluded her.
She took silver in the 11/u 50m and 100m freestyle (33.21 and 1:10.57), 100m breaststroke (1:28.36) and 200m medley (2:54.87) and bronze in the 100m backstroke (1:23.34) and 200m breaststroke (3:20.74).
Hawkins also recorded two South West qualifying times, Cooke and Axe-Browne one each.
