POOLE'S national age group champion Jacob Peters stormed to two junior finals and two senior B finals during an impressive international debut for an England youth team in Marseilles.

The 16-year-old Dorset champion also added to his programme for next month’s British Championship in Sheffield with a personal best time of 53.64 in the 100m freestyle heats.

In a star-studded Golden Tour Meet where fellow competitors included Hungary’s Olympic triple champion Katinka Hosszu and England’s Commonwealth champion Ben Proud, Peters came third in all four of his finals.

These were the 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly junior finals (27.54 and 25.31) and the 100m and 200m butterfly senior B finals (56.06 and 2:05.81).

“Jacob enjoyed his first international experience and improved on his heat times in three of his four finals, which was one of his targets,” said Poole coach Barry Alldrick.
