Swimming: Trio produce clean sweep of podium places for Swim Bournemouth

The trio of 11-year-olds came first, second and third, respectively, in the 11yrs 400m freestyle.

Later, Pardy and Harper added a one-two as they took gold and silver in the 400m individual medley.

Workman also won silver in the 50m backstroke and bronze in the 100m freestyle and 100m individual medley.

Pardy’s personal tally also included silver in the 50 and 200m freestyle, 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke and bronze in the 200m backstroke.

The winnings were among 16 gold, 24 silver and 14 bronze medals won by Swim Bournemouth swimmers.

Another 11-year-old, Hermione Cull, was one of five who won two gold medals each.

She was first in the 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke and second in the 200m freestyle.

Twelve-year-olds Joshua Wickens and Rosie Holland both struck gold twice.

Wickens came first in the 100m freestyle and 200m medley in his age group and third in the 200m butterfly.

Holland’s five medals were gold in the 100 and 200m butterfly, silver in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 200 and 400m individual medley.

In the 13-14yrs age group, Abby Manns took gold in the 100m breaststroke and 200m butterfly and silver in the 100m fly and 200 and 400m medley.

Fifteen-year-old Callum McGregor was a double winner, taking the 15-16yrs 100m butterfly and 400m medley as well as placing second in the 200m breaststroke.

Gold also went to 11-year-olds Milo Treloar in the 50m breaststroke and Alex Palotai-Avella in the 400m freestyle, Millie Sleeman in the 9yrs 50m butterfly and 19-year-old Danielle Thwaites in the 17 and over 400m freestyle.

Treloar and Palotai-Avella also won a trio of silver medals each, Thwaties a brace of silvers and Sleeman a silver and a bronze.

Other medallists included Francesca Gallimore (one silver, one bronze), Drew McGregor (one silver) and Ajay Coombes, Gray Omosevwhera, Casey Smith and Morgan Bryan (one bronze each).
