NATHAN Gerrard made the podium eight times to lead Sea-gulls’ medal flurry in the Yeovil Christmas Meet at Millfield.

The 10-year-old won gold in the 200m backstroke and breaststroke and the 100m medley, setting his first regional qualifying times in the two longer events.

He added silver in the 50m breaststroke and butterfly and the 200m medley and bronze in the 200 freestyle and butterfly.

Nine-year-old Flynn Denman and 11-year-olds Max Weeks and Freddie Porter each picked up a bronze and a silver, Denman in the 50 and 200m breaststroke, Weeks in the 50m fly and freestyle Porter in the 200m and 100m fly.

Abbey Sharpe won bronze in 12yrs 50m breaststroke, while 14-year-old Natalie Awcock was third in the 100m breaststroke.

Allanah Smithson, Ollie Weston and Robbie Hemmings each contributed three golds to Poole’s 45-medal haul at the West Dorset Christmas Meet.

Smithson also set her first regional qualifying times as she won the 12-13yrs 50 and 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle.

Weston won the boys’ 12-13yrs 100m backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle and led a Poole clean sweep of the backstroke as Raf Packham won silver and Byron Booker bronze, while Hemmings won the 9yrs 50m backstroke and butterfly and 100m medley.
