DORSET-based Jean Howard-Jones shared in four world, two European and one British relay records as she turned out for the Spencer Swim Team at the Great Britain Masters Championships in Plymouth.
Howard-Jones, who also swims for Poole and holds individual British records in the 65-69 age group, also won gold in the 50, 100 and 200m freestyle in her first appearance at 70-74yrs level.
Bournemouth-based Cathy Hartle also contributed to a British record for Spencer as she won two gold and three silver medals in the relays, plus an individual bronze in the 55-59yrs 800m freestyle.
Wareham Water-Rats’ Hannah Wiltshire won gold in the 25-29yrs 50 and 100m breaststroke in long-course times of 35.21 and 1:19.24.
Christchurch Seagulls’ Judith Barton is celebrating her first national masters medal – a silver in the 55-59yrs 50m breaststroke.
Poole’s Karen Yendole, Robert Lloyd-Evans and Roger Guttridge each won a hat-trick of bronze medals, all but two of them in the breaststroke events. Lloyd-Evans set a 70-74yrs Welsh record as he came third in the 1,500m freestyle in 27:09.37 before adding two more bronze medals in the 100 and 200m breaststroke.
Yendole won bronze in the 30-34yrs 50, 100 and 200m breaststroke, with Guttridge’s bronze trio coming in the 60-64yrs 100 and 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley.
