NEIL Middleditch tipped Pirates stars Brady Kurtz and Josh Grajczonek to rediscover their magic on the track.

The Aussie duo contributed just six points between them during Wednesday’s 48-42 defeat to Somerset in the SGB Premiership.

Both riders have struggled to consistently hit their best form this year but team boss Middleditch is confident a solution will be found.

He told the Daily Echo: “Josh and Brady had an off-night at Somerset, which is unusual with it being an ex-home track for them. They were very disappointed about it.

“They were very down on themselves but like I said to them, you can’t do that. You have to put the bad meetings behind you and try to move forward.

“The only way you can do that is on the track. We know they are capable.

“They are both racking their brains trying to work out what the problem is and I’m sure they will be back.”

Although Kacper Woryna took star billing with a 17-point haul at the Oaktree Arena, fellow reserve Mateusz Szczepaniak worked hard for four paid six.

“Mateusz is worth a mention because he rode very well,” said Middleditch.

“He got beaten up in the first corner of his last race but showed what he could do.

“Him and Kacper are a very dangerous pair at reserve.”

Poole have taken at least a point in their past six league meetings and have hauled themselves up to sixth in the table.

Middleditch added: “It is tough to win away from home these days and if you keep nibbling away and get a point here and there, come the play-offs it can make a huge difference.

“We have a very good team when everyone is firing but we can’t afford to carry passengers.”
