DANISH racer Nicolai Klindt warned boss Matt Ford he could not single-handedly salvage Pirates' season.

But the Poole asset, who is due to return to the line-up in a fortnight, believes he can boost confidence in the Wimborne Road camp.

Pirates are bottom of the SGB Premiership heading into tomorrow's clash with Leicester (7.30pm).

Klindt told the Daily Echo: "I've told Matt that just me coming in is not going to salvage his season.

"But I believe I will strengthen the team and, although I'm not Superman, I can help get a bit of confidence and spirit back in the boys and then they will start scoring a few more points.

"It doesn't really matter how many you win by, as long as you win." The 29-year-old made a flying start to 2017 for Poole but a knee injury sustained in Latvia in June wrecked his campaign.

Klindt said: "I let Matt know I wanted to be back for the start of the season but there was no space for me.

"He began the season with a team which he felt would win the league and as everyone has seen, it has been the opposite.

"I enjoyed last year up until my injury. My hopes are to pick up where I left off and keep on scoring points."
