ENTHUSED Pirates chief Matt Ford insisted no other SGB Premiership team could have enticed Linus Sundstrom, Mateusz Szczepaniak and Kacper Woryna back to these shores.

The trio are set to feature when Poole begin their league campaign with a home meeting against Wolverhampton tomorrow (7.30pm).

Sundstrom, Szczepaniak and Woryna join three other riders familiar to the Wimborne Road faithful – Brady Kurtz, Josh Grajczonek and James Shanes.

Former Grand Prix star Peter Kildemand will cover for Chris Holder against the Monmore side, with the Aussie soon due to return once he has resolved undisclosed personal issues.

Reflecting on the line-up, Ford told the Daily Echo: "On paper, we're looking good. I think we've got some lovely names in there.

"We've persuaded Woryna to come here and Sundstrom and Szczepaniak to return to the UK after five years away.

"We have something about us and I genuinely don't think any other team would have got any of those three riders.

"We're giving Brady time to move forward in the sport. He has had two years and I think we are going to see the benefit of him in years to come.

"When I look at other people's teams, do I think I've lost my mojo? I don't think so."

Meanwhile, Pirates' Knockout Cup quarter-final clashes with Somerset have been rescheduled.

The first leg will take place at the Oaktree Arena on Wednesday, May 2, with the second being contested on Wednesday, June 27.

SGB Premiership fixtures between the teams had been scheduled for those dates but have been shifted to Wednesday, June 20 at Somerset and Friday, August 31 at Poole.

In addition, Pirates will visit Somerset on Monday, August 20 for a league meeting, five days later than originally planned.

Elsewhere, the league trip to Wolverhampton – postponed from Monday, March 26 – will take place on Monday, April 23.
