BRADY Kurtz has his eyes on the £10,000 prize at Poole's 70th anniversary meeting.

The Aussie flier will be among those fancied to challenge for victory having starred at Wimborne Road last term.

Asked about the cash incentive, Kurtz said: "I'd be happy to claim that!

"This has to be the best meeting Poole has had since I've been here. Hopefully, there will be a good crowd and it can be a good event.

"I'm looking forward to getting some laps in."

Kurtz is back for a third straight year with the Dorset club and is set to start the SGB Premiership campaign in the number one role.

The 21-year-old was one of the plus points of a 2017 season in which Pirates reached the play-off semi-finals.

"Every year you come back to a club you feel more at home," said Kurtz.

"Hopefully, this year I can continue from where I left off.

"It's hard to say how I will go before the season starts. A few weeks in, we will see where we're at but I can't see why this year wouldn't be even better than last year.

"I've done two semi-finals in a row with Poole and gone home not happy. I think this could be the year for us."
